ADOPTED! JACKSON - We estimate that Jackson is about 10 or 12 months old. He weighs 30 lbs. and is a very happy, energetic guy, with the sweetest disposition. As a very young dog, Jackson is full of life and wants to explore the world. He loves and is super responsive to people, and is equally responsive with men and women.  He often rolls over on his back when people pet him, and he loves doggie massages and belly rubs. Jackson is great about being handled and touched.

Jackson listens very well and is quite submissive with people. He very much wants to please, is extremely smart and trainable.  He learned 'sit' in 2-minutes with just a few treats.

He loves to play with other dogs, and uses a strong herding style. As a typical young cattle dog, he can be a pushy, persistent little pest when playing with other dogs. He loves to run, jump and practice his herding moves around other dogs and animals. When he is with people and it's time to be calm, he can be an absolute relaxed and restful love.

Jackson walks well on leash, when wearing a Sensation or Sensible harness. He is almost house trained, and may need some refresher training. Jackson would be an excellent working dog or agility dog. He is one of the fastest dogs we have seen and turns on a dime.

He is good with children, but because he is so energetic and likes to herd, we do not recommend him with children under 7 or 8 years. Jackson is not good with cats. As a young cattle dog barely out of puppyhood, he needs a lot of exercise, both mental and physical. Jackson is a fantastic guy, who will learn routines and commands very quickly, but he does need training and to learn boundaries and how to be polite with other dogs/animals.
